Site Title

This is normally a one word or a simple phrase for your website.

This can be your website name e.g My PQA site .

The shorter and concise, the better.

Sub title

This is one sentence description of your website.

It can be your website aim or purpose,  company motto, etc

The site title and sub title  come together  to form a nice name tag for your website. See the image below

Preferred site URL

This setting allows site administrator to set where PQA is installed.

Generally PQA will automatically detect the site url. You can decide to set www or non www version here.
Example: site url = http://example.com

Preferred site url = http://www.example.com

URL structure

This setting allows admins to set the url of their website .

PQA supports five types of urls :

  •  /123/why-do-birds-sing (requires htaccess file)
  • /index.php/123/why-do-birds-sing
  • /?qa=123/why-do-birds-sing
  • /?qa=123&qa_1=why-do-birds-sing
  • /index.php?qa=123&qa_1=why-do-birds-sing

After installation, PQA will automatically mark a url as OK if your server environments support that type of url. See image below;

url_structure

For the benefits of SEO, it advisable to use the first url.

Site language

This setting allow admins to set the specific site language they would like to use.

For a language to appear for selection, it must be installed and loaded from PQA languages folder. Learn how to install a language for your PQA site

Site theme base

This setting allow you to set the template for your theme to use.

Currently, only the PQA base template is available

Site theme

This setting allows you to set the preferred site theme to use.

After a fresh installation, the site theme is set to base which is the default PQA theme.

To set and use you own theme, it must be installed and loaded from the PQA themes folder.

Site theme for mobile

This setting allows you to set a dedicated mobile theme for your site

For a mobile theme to appear for selection, it must be installed and loaded from the PQA themes folder.

Question classification

This settings allows you to decide how you would want to classify content on your PQA site.

The Options available are ;

Tags – selecting this option would allow you to classify your content using mainly tags.

Tags and Categories – selecting this option would allow you to classify your content using both tags and categories.

Categories – selecting this option would allow you to classify your content using mainly categories.

None – selecting this option will disable content classification entirely.

Note: Classification in PQA means grouping similar content under a tag category or both.

Example: If there are two posts tagged with the word facebook, clicking on the tag facebook will return the two post

Credit – HTML allowed

This settings allows you to change the default PQA credits attribution. After a fresh installation, it would be set as Powered by Powerqa in the footer. You can change to whatever you like.

You can use html tags such as <a> <h2>, <i>,<b> etc. All valid HTML tags are allowed.

Take site down for temporary maintenance

This setting is self explanatory.

If for some reason, you would want to close the site down to users, you can put the site under maintenance mode. This will tell all registered users and guests that your PQA site is under maintenance.

Admins can still access the full site even under maintenance mode with full functionality
